The second event of the
OGR YOU series is held by the artist and ‘internet psychogeographer’ Angelo Plessas (born in 1974, lives and works in Athens).
On 6 March, in the Sala Duomo of OGR, at 6 pm, Plessas presents:
☁
CLOUD EUPHORIA ✿?
A post-analysis on the networked effects of our emotions✌
The artist says:
“Nowadays we live in a maze of perplexity and contradiction. We treat feelings as data by augmenting them, compressing them, duplicating them, erasing them. Data like "happiness" or "sadness" are becoming abstractions, because there is never a single moment when we can explicitly feel one or another. Let's click into these "files" and explore these techno-cultural forms of communicational imperfection. ?”
The focus of Angelo Plessas' work is to network the offline with the online in ways that help us understand both conditions. His activities range from performances to artist residencies (The Eternal Internet Brotherhood/Sisterhood); from self-publishing to interactive websites; from sculptures to live-stream events and educational projects. Plessas’ work has been exhibited internationally in venues including documenta14 in Athens and Kassel; Centre Pompidou and Jeu de Paume, Paris; the DESTE Foundation for Contemporary Art and National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens; and Frieze Projects 2013, London.
