On Monday, September 8, 2025, at 6.30 PM, Cecilia Sala will take the stage for a new OGR Talks. At Binario 3 of OGR Torino, the journailst and author will present her new book I figli dell’odio (Mondadori), published on September 2, in conversation with Lorenzo Pregliasco, political analyst and founder of YouTrend.

What does it mean to grow up under the weight of fanaticism, radicalisation and war? I figli dell’odio seeks to answer this question, starting from stark, concrete images: in Hebron, West Bank, young Jewish girls protest against mixed marriages; in Tulkarem, refugee camp, Palestinian youths pin photos on their slain friends to their rifles before confronting Israeli soldiers; in Tehran, Iran, Abbas mourns his cousin executed by the regime while watching Israel’s attack on the Islamic Republic with both fear and anticipation.

With vivid, on-the-ground reporting, moving through checkpoints and raids, the author enters the homes of soldiers, survivors and victims. Cecilia Sala reveals a common thread running through them all: a generational clash reshaping the Middle East. Exhausted Israeli pacifists watching their country go off course, Palestinian sons who take up arms while their fathers still believe in diplomacy, Iranian girls who defy the regime unveiled.

The tension between diplomacy and violence, the courage and contradictions of its protagonists, emerge powerfully, offering a rigorous and human portrait of a region in transformation.
