OGR Torino, in collaboration with MAUTO - Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile di Torino, is organizing the exhibition-event "Don't believe the speaking car" at the Duomo to celebrate MAUTO's 90th anniversary. The event will take place from July 18th to July 23rd.
"Unusual Adventure of Riding in Silence" a video artwork by Natalia Trejbalova, presents itself as an advertisement created by a fictional and anonymous car company. As text scrolls in the video, we are catapulted into a not-so-distant dystopian scenario, where cars have become self-aware. One of the cars addresses the viewer directly, retracing the history of the automotive industry with a focus on the interrelationships between humans and other creatures.
For the occasion, OGR Torino associates Natalia Trejbalova’s artwork with a piece from the collection of the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, the Phoenix II Solare, an electric racing car designed in 1987.
