If work no longer needs us, can we live without work?

On Thursday 5 November at 6.30 PM, in the Mezzanino at OGR Torino, Filippo Lubrano presents Il lavoro senza di noi. Le macchine, la fine dei mestieri e il reddito universale, published by Tlon, in conversation with Luna Bianchi.

Artificial intelligence and robotics are performing tasks that, until recently, we considered uniquely human. This shift challenges not only our professions, but also the role of work in our lives: as a source of income, a measure of success and part of our identity.

Lubrano traces the relationship between society and work, asking how the wealth generated by automation should be distributed. Among the possibilities he explores is universal basic income as a way to rethink the relationship between financial security, time and freedom.

An opportunity to discuss the choices ahead and a question that concerns us all: who will we be if working becomes a choice?
