Green Tech Corner | Renewables aren’t all the same

Every renewable energy source has its own challenge: what is holding them back?

Renewable energy sources are often discussed as if they were all the same, but each one faces different challenges. Solar needs to find space while coexisting with agriculture; offshore wind must address the complexities of transporting and installing floating platforms, as well as managing blades at the end of their life; biomethane needs to turn waste into a reliable supply chain.

At the second Green Tech Corner event, three companies will share practical challenges and discuss the constraints, figures, and real trade-offs involved.

To each energy source, its challenge

6.30 PM | Doors open and welcome

6.35 PM | Opening remarks and introduction to the Green Tech Corner format

6.40 PM | To each energy source, its challenge
Three 10-minute talks exploring the obstacles that each renewable energy source faces:

Solar | Federico Sandrone, CEO of Coesa Energy
The coexistence of photovoltaic energy and agriculture in Piedmont, and the management of solar panels at the end of their life.

Offshore wind | Michele Schiavone, Market Director at Copenhagen Offshore Partners, a member of the Divento joint venture
The challenges of transportation, installation on floating platforms, and blade disposal.

Biomethane | Francesco Galanzino, CEO of Entsorga
A look at the Borgo San Dalmazzo plant, focusing on the quality of organic waste, seasonal variability, and digestate management.

7.10 PM | Roundtable
Moderated by Prof. Marcello Baricco, Scientific Platforms, University of Turin. Each speaker will be asked which obstacle they would remove first, choosing between regulations, costs, or forms of local resistance.

7.30 PM | Networking and drinks
