The Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino renews its appointment dedicated to publishing professionals with the second edition of the Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Publishing, to be held in the Duomo at OGR Torino. If 2025 marked the first opportunity for discussion, 2026 represents the shift from theory to practice: rather than simply talking about technology, the conference will explore its real-world application within publishing processes, helping publishers navigate genuine opportunities, risks, and practical solutions.
In a market saturated with isolated tech demonstrations, the conference offers a strategic, system-level approach to distinguish between valuable experimentation and overhyped solutions, understand what can already be implemented today and what requires caution, and assess the impact of AI on rights, responsibility, and workflows.
The conference day is designed as a shared working space and is structured around two key moments: a plenary session focused on scenarios and strategies, providing an overview of the current state of AI adoption in publishing and a broader framework encompassing processes, rights, editorial responsibility, and the European landscape; and workshop sessions conceived as spaces for hands-on discussion, led by a publisher and a technologist, dedicated to practical experimentation and the analysis of real case studies, with the aim of offering participants useful criteria to help guide future decisions.
