The next edition of Tech & Tonic for Game Dev, taking place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Speakers’ Corner of OGR Torino, will explore the process of building a visual identity in video games, focusing on that delicate stage where concept art, art direction, and in-engine production must stop being separate worlds and begin speaking the same language.

The guest speaker will be Jimmy Chan Petersson, Art Director and Concept Artist at Wishfully Studios, the independent Swedish studio behind Planet of Lana and its sequel, Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf. During the talk, Petersson will share the journey that led to the definition of Planet of Lana’s hand-painted aesthetic: years of experimentation, failed prototypes, and attempts to reconcile the imagery of Studio Ghibli with the tradition of cinematic platformers such as Limbo and Inside. It is a long and far from straightforward story of preserving the power of the original illustrations within the game itself and transforming that vision into a production pipeline capable of evolving alongside the ambitions of the new chapter.
