Città inudibili (Inaudible Cities) reinterprets Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino through a dialogue between the voice of Matthew Caccia and a sound map by Davide “Boosta” Dileo.
In the 1983 novel, Marco Polo tells Kublai Khan about the dozens of cities he has visited, bringing them before the emperor’s eyes through storytelling.
And if Calvino wrote that “Cities are a collection of many things: memories, desires, signs of a language,” we could say the same about libraries. Nonexistent yet coveted, imperfect yet desired places that will take shape and come to life in OGR Torino’s Sala Fucine in a show created to be watched, or perhaps just listened to.
Città inudibili is the second stage of Biblioteca Immaginaria (Imaginary Library), a series of events held across Turin by Vale - Polo Culturale Valentino to imagine together the library of the future.
