At OGR Torino, Corvidae, a performative adaptation of the play Corvidae. Species gazes by Marta Cuscunà. On stage, a flock of crows, mechanical creatures animated on sight, embodies the tension between nature and technology. Made from industrial components and manually operated by the artist, the birds move thanks to an analog stage system, operated by the artist. As they discuss current issues from their perspective - from the production of synthetic meat to the hypothetical demise of Donald Trump, via global warming and rising sea levels - they construct a prophecy of possible futures.
Through a language that combines philosophy, anthropology and ecology, Corvidae invites the audience to reflect, focusing on the urgency of the climate crisis and the transformative power of collective action.
