On Monday, December 7, Amici di Piero returns to OGR Torino for its 27th edition. The charity music marathon brings together some of the leading artists from Turin and the Italian music scene to remember Piero Maccarino, singer and sound engineer, and Caterina Farassino, photographer – two figures deeply connected to the city’s cultural history.
Over the years, music and solidarity have become the event’s defining features. As per tradition, artists will perform free of charge and on equal footing, with no hierarchies, taking turns on the Sala Fucine stage for a long evening of live music dedicated to sharing and collective commitment.
The first artists announced for the 27th edition include Fratelli di Soledad, the historic Turin band whose music has blended rock, ska, reggae and a socially engaged spirit for over thirty years; Persiana Jones, one of the leading names in Italian ska-punk, with a long history of performances across Italy and Europe; and D!ps, a Turin-based band combining rap, electronic music and indie rock, with ironic lyrics and a critical perspective on contemporary society, whose talent impressed even Subsonica founder Max Casacci. Also confirmed: Statuto and OH DiE!.
More artists will be announced in the coming weeks, continuing a tradition that brings different generations of musicians and audiences together at OGR Torino to remember Piero and Caterina through music.
The event’s proceeds will be donated to Fondazione Caterina Farassino.
