On March 17, at 9.30 PM, Nicole Zuraitis, a two-time Grammy Award winner, will take the stage at Snodo, performing with renowned drummer Elio Coppola and his trio. The Connecticut-born singer, who won the 2024 Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album with her LP How Love Begins, will present an exclusive performance for the Torino audience, accompanied by an exceptional group. On stage with her will be pianist Sergio Di Gennaro and bassist Alessandro Maiorino, who, alongside Coppola, promise a performance full of energy and sophistication.
OGR Jazz Night is the series created by OGR Torino in collaboration with Indiependence and the artistic direction of Sergio Di Gennaro, showcasing the best of contemporary jazz through live concerts and jam sessions. Snodo, the food & drink soul of OGR, transforms into a cosmopolitan stage where jazz meets fine dining for a unique sensory experience. NICOLE ZURAITIS
Nicole Zuraitis is one of the great voices in the international jazz scene. After starting to sing with a college big band, she studied classical voice at New York University and worked in opera. Since 2009, she has dedicated herself entirely to composition and jazz, releasing six solo albums. Her album How Love Begins, co-produced by Christian McBride, won the 2024 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Nicole Zuraitis is also the lead vocalist of the Birdland Big Band and regularly performs at prestigious venues such as Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln Center, Birdland, Blue Note, and many more. She has collaborated with artists like Christian McBride, Gilad Hekselman, Benny Benack, and Antonio Sánchez.
ELIO COPPOLA TRIO
The trio accompanying Nicole Zuraitis is led by Elio Coppola, an internationally renowned drummer and bandleader, known for his concert activity in both Europe and the United States. He has collaborated with major jazz figures such as Emmet Cohen, Bennie Benack, Lauren Henderson, Dave Kikoski, Gerald Cannon, Jerry Weldon, and many others. Joining him on stage will be Sergio Di Gennaro on piano and Alessandro Maiorino on bass, two highly skilled and talented musicians.
