Patch Wednesdays are back, the Wednesdays with cybersecurity with HRC's CyberBrain team.
On Wednesday, April 2, at 6:30 PM, the focus at OGR Torino will be on social engineering: the discipline that uses human psychology to obtain sensitive information without even entering a computer system. As the digital world is increasingly dominated by cyberattacks, today’s true hackers don’t just write code; they use their minds. They manipulate people, influence emotions, and exploit psychological weaknesses to breach security. During the event, we will discover how cybercriminals use these techniques to gain access to confidential information, deceiving even the most experienced professionals in the field.
Key speakers:
EMANUELE SPINA – Mentalist
Emanuele will explore how hackers exploit psychological principles to manipulate their victims. Through practical examples, he will test our mental defense skills using persuasion techniques, non-verbal signal reading, and other psychological tools.
NINO D’AMICO – Cybersecurity Expert, CTO of HRC, and Head of the CyberBrain Project
Nino will guide us through the various types of social engineering attacks, analyzing real cases and techniques used by cybercriminals. We will learn how traditional defenses may fail to counter these attacks and what measures we can adopt to protect ourselves and our companies.
ALBERTO ROSSETTI – Psychologist and Psychotherapist
Alberto will explore the psychology of hackers and how emotional and cognitive dynamics influence human behavior. With his expertise, Rossetti will delve into the psychological processes that drive people’s decisions and actions, focusing on how we react to situations involving stress, manipulation, and external pressure. He will discuss the mechanisms of adaptation and the psychological strategies that make us vulnerable or resistant to psychological attacks.
Event Agenda:
- Introduction to Social Engineering
- Mental Manipulation Techniques
- Cybersecurity and Defense Against Social Engineering
