Until January 11, 2026, the Corte Est of OGR Torino will be illuminated by Mummer Love, the site-specific audiovisual installation by the Soundwalk Collective, featuring the voice of Patti Smith and the music of Philip Glass.

Conceived as an immersive journey, Mummer Love originates from recordings made by Stephan Crasneanscki in Arthur Rimbaud’s house in Harar, Ethiopia, and from Sufi chants collected during the same expedition. Voices, sounds, and images evoke the French poet’s African period, recreating the mystical and sensory dimension of his quest.

Patti Smith’s voice, reading excerpts from Illuminations, intertwines with Philip Glass’s hypnotic notes to create a suspended soundscape — one made of inner rhythms and silences that heighten the perceptual experience. As in Rimbaud’s synesthetic writing, vision becomes a bodily experience: the visitor is invited to linger in the space, to listen, to be permeated by it.

Mummer Love represents the second chapter in the Perfect Vision cycle, a trilogy through which Soundwalk Collective has explored the poets of ecstasy (Rimbaud, René Daumal, and Antonin Artaud), delving into the threshold between word, spirituality, and perception.

“Through Sufi chants, one accesses other levels of self and consciousness.
This connection, like poetry, is a universal language.
A language of the soul, for the soul.”
— Stephan Crasneanscki
