How does a research idea turn into a business? How can an academic insight evolve into a startup ready to grow in the market?
These are the questions addressed in the new edition of Startup for Beginners, a series of events created by OGR Torino and Talent Garden, designed to inspire new generations to embark on entrepreneurial paths and to discover the opportunities and resources available in the local ecosystem.
On October 23 at 6.30 PM, in the Refectory of OGR Torino, Monica Cugno, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Business Economics and Management at the University of Turin and Co-Director of the 2nd Level Master’s program in Open Innovation & Intellectual Property, will present the talk “The Metamorphosis of Open Innovation in Ongoing Revolutions.” She will guide the audience through the emerging forms of innovation born within the research world.
This will be followed by the case study of SynDiag, a Turin-based deep-tech startup that uses artificial intelligence and decision-support systems in gynecological diagnostics. Daniele Conti, Ph.D., co-founder and now CEO, will share the journey that transformed scientific research into a business with real clinical impact and promising growth prospects.
The event is aimed at students, researchers, and young professionals who want to turn their knowledge into entrepreneurial projects, with direct insights from those who have already succeeded.
The evening will conclude with a networking session open to all participants, providing an opportunity to continue the conversation and take the first steps into Turin’s innovation community.
