What does it really take to turn an idea into a startup capable of growth? And what role can venture capital play in helping founders build a company, secure early funding, and approach the market with greater awareness?

The new event of Startup for Beginners, the series conceived by OGR Torino in collaboration with Talent Garden to bring younger generations closer to entrepreneurship, focuses on these questions, exploring how the relationship between startups and investors develops, and why skills, vision and timing make a difference at every stage of the journey.

The event is curated by Step Fund, an organisation supporting innovative projects and high-potential startups. During the evening, the Step Fund team will lead a masterclass titled From Building to Exit: Why Skills Matter at Every Stage of the VC Cycle, offering a clear and accessible introduction to how venture capital works and how it can support startup growth, from the initial idea through to development and consolidation.

This will be followed by a conversation with Robin Health, a startup in Step Fund’s portfolio, featuring Giacomo Di Lorenzo, CEO, who will share the company’s journey, the challenges encountered, and the value of engaging with investors and strategic partners in the early stages of growth.

The event is aimed at students, aspiring founders, young professionals, and anyone interested in exploring the startup ecosystem. It offers an opportunity to better understand how to build a credible entrepreneurial project, avoid common pitfalls, and present effectively to investors.

The evening concludes with a Q&A session and a networking aperitivo, designed to encourage informal exchange between speakers, participants and Turin’s innovation community.
