On Tuesday, 22 September at 6.30 PMStefano Nazzi will be at OGR Torino's Sala Fucine for a new OGR Talks event, presented in collaboration with Mondadori.

The event will focus on Profeti del buio. Potere, manipolazione, violenza: i segreti delle sette, the journalist and author's new book, which reconstructs seventeen stories of groups and communities marked by extreme forms of control, isolation and violence.

From the UFO based doctrine of Telsen Sao to the Heaven's Gate mass suicide, from the practices of Aum Shinrikyo to the ideology of the Order of Nine Angles, Nazzi explores very different worlds to investigate what they have in common: the power wielded by charismatic leaders, the gradual erosion of individual autonomy, and the combination of fascination, fear and manipulation that can turn a cult into a place of abuse and crime.

The book delves into the mechanisms of mind control to understand how a cult takes shape, how it succeeds in exerting control over its members, and what paths can help people find their way out of these closed communities.
