On 4 December, another unmissable live show at OGR Torino: THE ZEN CIRCUS, one of the most iconic bands on the Italian indie-rock scene, are back to set Sala Fucine ablaze. After more than two years away from the stage, the tour marks their long-awaited return to live music. Tickets available from 10 a.m. on 16 April.
The band from Pisa has long stood for rebellion and innovation, becoming a cornerstone of Italy’ independent scene with 12 albums and a career spanning over 20 years. After a break spent working on solo projects, Andrea Appino, Karim Qqru and Massimiliano ‘Ufo’ Schiavelli are finally making their comeback.
Once again, OGR Torino will host a unique live show that blends raw rock energy with quieter, emotional moments, all wrapped in the unmistakable sound of THE ZEN CIRCUS: powerful, instantly recognisable musicians capable of striking deep emotional chords, with a strong flair for songwriting.
MORE INFORMATION
THE ZEN CIRCUS
The Zen Circus are among the most enduring and acclaimed rock bands in Italian music. With a career spanning over 20 years and the release of 12 albums, the trio – Andrea Appino (vocals and guitar), Karim Qqru (drums) and Massimiliano ‘Ufo’ Schiavelli (bass) – are now acknowledged as a driving force in Italian indie music, having played a key role in revitalising the country's cultural landscape.
Over the years, The Zen Circus have topped sales charts, contributed to film soundtracks and collaborated with big names in the Italian music scene, including Luca Carboni, Brunori Sas, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Emma Nolde and actor Claudio Santamaria. In 2019, they featured at the 69th Sanremo Festival with the song “L'amore è una dittatura”.
Their music is raw and passionate – a directed, almost visceral gaze cast with biting irony at society and its contradictions, sometimes turning inward to explore the complexities of the innermost human emotions. Thoughtful, expressive and evocative, their music truly comes to life on stage, one of the band’s greatest strengths and a key reason for appreciation.
After a two-year hiatus that gave each member space to pursue solo projects, the band has announced its long-awaited return. Their comeback kicks off in 2025 with a new tour produced by Locusta – THE ZEN CIRCUS TOUR 2025 – and Carosello Records as their new label.
