New art commissioning educational events, exhibitions, interviews, virtual tours. From art and tech enthusiasts to families and the simply curious, OGR Open Sessions is a Lifelong Learning project for all audiences. Paying particular attention to accessibility, the contents – edited to favour the enjoyment even by audiences with special needs – will eventually feature on OGR Torino's YouTube channel. "Networks, connections, information flows are the high-speed tracks followed in this journey through an increasingly digital contemporary world. OGR's new programme schedule goes in that direction, encouraging interaction between people and glocal institutions in areas such as culture, tech and innovation, which are essential to make a new start – says OGR’s General Manager Massimo Lapucci, – Ranging from physical spaces for content production to online sharing, we are launching 'Open Sessions' to open up OGR Torino to the blending of ideas and identities, stimulating and enhancing the innovative potential of artists and the creativity of entrepreneurs who are planning for the future, along trajectories that are bound to intersect”. “This period of necessary social distancing is giving us the opportunity to reflect on our mission, on our objectives and to put in place innovative and technological solutions to be applied to the many different worlds populating OGR Torino every day. Therefore we are not saying goodbye to our audience but, rather, we are cultivating and implementing this relationship by offering new content specifically conceived in digital format, which can be remodelled for in-person audiences once gathering becomes possible again”, states OGR’s Chairman Fulvio Gianaria. The sections OGR Art Corner: a section dedicated to in-depth analysis of visual arts, featuring two types of encounters: with artists and with works and exhibitions.
- MEET THE ARTIST | CONOSCIAMO GLI ARTISTI - never previously released video interviews to some protagonists of the art and music scene who have collaborated with OGR, such as Trevor Paglen, Davide "Boosta" Dileo, Hannah Black, Colette Sadler.
First online appointment: Thursday 3rd December 2020.
- MEET THE ARTWORK | NUOVE PRODUZIONI ARTISTICHE, real novelty of the digital section, it features the commissioning of new works specifically conceived for the online context. The project is intended to support artistic practice, at a time when exhibition activities are frozen, by promoting collaboration with local and national cultural institutions working with residency programmes such as Crypta 747in Turin, MAMbo - Nuovo Forno del Pane in Bologna, Schermo dell'Arte in Florence, Centrale FIES in Dro (TN), La Quadriennale and Mattatoio - Progetto PrendersiCura in Rome, which have always been committed to creating exhibition opportunities around the projects of the artists with whom they collaborate. The first work, by artist Beatrice Marchi, will be presented in January 2021. OGR Good Vibes: with the section OGR Good Vibes (first online appointment: Friday 11th December 2020) the music never stops and it is coming back to OGR with a series of unplugged sessions, recorded at Duomo, iconic venue of the former workshops, with the involvement of professionals working in the events industry, one of the sectors worst affected by the current situation. In a production by OGR, video content of unplugged music sessions specifically realised for OGR will be broadcast on the social channels of Turin's cultural hub. With OGR Good Vibes the former workshops are creating a music salon, positioning themselves as a sounding board, in metaphorical as well as literal terms, to begin new relationships with representatives of the local music scene, bringing to OGR musical vibes and virtuous collaborations. On Friday 11th December 2020 at 21.00 the first online appointment on OGR’s social media channels will feature Davide "Boosta" Dileo – a leading artist on the Turin and Italian scene – who will present a preview of his new studio album Facile, an instrumental, romantic, "soundtrack for the silence of the listener".
Waiting to see him live, the music doesn't stop: inside a virtual room, the audience can enjoy the personal experience of a one-on-one presentation with the artists, in a journey through new tracks and words. During the second and third appointment of OGR Good Vibes, available online starting from January 2021, OGR will introduce a new and virtuous collaboration with The Goodness Factory and _resetfestival, which have been providing an opportunity for visibility and growth to emerging musicians since 2009.
In fact, OGR Torino and _resetfestival share the same approach to research and innovation. Hence the idea of a collaboration in two episodes to showcase new music with the aim of putting online new ideas and projects, creating new opportunities and bringing young singer-songwriters and local music projects on OGR’s new Duomo stage: the second music event will see the involvement of Anna Castiglia and Francamente, while in the third episode of the section, Makepop and t-vernice
. OGR Tech & Social District: section dedicated to innovation and its dissemination – companies based at OGR Tech are involved in the creation of video interviews and podcasts. The contents address work and research topics such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, Smart Mobility, sustainable development and Big Data for the non-profit sector. What is the mission of companies and startups operating at OGR Tech? What drives today's and tomorrow's innovators? These questions will be answered by the main startups and scaleups involved and by some important corporate and financial partners who, collectively, represent and make up the OGR Tech ecosystem.
