Turin, April 4, 2025 – MinervaS, Citiculture and Ogyre, three startups active in the fields of sustainable mobility, circular economy and environmental protection, were the three most voted by the partners and took center stage for the final pitch, closing “
50 in a Day - The Green Tech Startup Showcase”. The event was organized by OGR Torino in collaboration with Microsoft Italia and Italian Tech Alliance.
MinervaS, based in Salerno, Italy, proposes an advanced eco-driving system that leverages vehicle and road data to optimize fuel consumption and reduce emissions, offering corporate fleets an innovative tool to combine efficiency and sustainability.
Citiculture, a Turin-based company, designs smart urban vineyards for businesses, integrating viticulture, social impact and agritech technologies. Its solutions enable companies to generate environmental and social value by supporting compliance with CSRD standards.
Ogyre, a startup based in Genoa, has developed the first global “fishing for litter” platform that engages fishing communities in collecting marine litter. Through its operational network in Italy, Brazil and Indonesia, Ogyre enables individuals and companies to actively contribute to cleaning the oceans while supporting local communities.
The three selected startups will be awarded three months of membership at OGR Tech, enabling them to live and work within the OGR Torino innovation hub ecosystem.
The unique format transformed the OGR Tech into a laboratory of concrete innovation for a day, connecting 50 startups and scaleups from the Italian green tech ecosystem with national and European investors and corporations. A key moment was the presentation of the strategic partnership between OGR Torino and EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. The partnership recognizes OGR as the sole Startup Ecosystem Agent for Italy, further strengthening the role of Turin-already named the European Capital of Innovation 2024-as a hub of excellence for sustainable urban solutions.
“
OGR was born with the ambition of being a bridge between past and future, between ideas and business, between the worlds of business and culture,” said
Davide Canavesio, President of OGR Torino. "
Today, thanks to ‘50 in a day,’ that bridge comes alive with meetings, visions and concrete opportunities. It is not just about numbers or pitches, but about building together the future of urban mobility and sustainability. This event cements Turin’s position as a European laboratory for applied innovation. Our partnership with EIT Urban Mobility allows us to amplify this mission: nurturing ideas, guiding them to market, and connecting innovators with investors who have the vision and resources to support them. Together, we are building smarter, more livable and resilient cities, with OGR as the epicenter of an ecosystem that transcends borders."
The session dedicated to the collaboration between OGR Torino and EIT Urban Mobility featured industry experts, institutional representatives, and investors in a panel discussing how to unite efforts to accelerate urban startup growth. Among the speakers was
Keren Beit-Cohen, Head of Strategic Investments and Operations at EIT Urban Mobility, who stated,
"‘50 in a Day’ exemplifies our European network strategy, which thrives on partnerships with entities like OGR Tech to provide startups tools, resources and access to international markets. At a time when urban mobility faces complex challenges, from the transition to electric mobility to environmental sustainability, our goal is to identify the most innovative solutions and support their growth. The partnership with OGR Torino strengthens our ability to build bridges between ecosystems, overcome national barriers and build together a greener, smarter and more integrated Europe.""
Never before has it been so important to understand and promote the concrete potential and benefits of innovation, with a focus on the adoption of generative artificial intelligence. We are proud to have OGR Torino among the partners of Microsoft AI LAB, an initiative created precisely to promote the opportunities of generative artificial intelligence and its responsible adoption to contribute to Italy's sustainable growth," commented
Matteo Mille, Chief Sales Enablement & Operations of Microsoft Italy.
Through this initiative, OGR Torino consolidates its role as a catalyst in the innovation ecosystem, bridging local talent with international networks. The partnership with EIT Urban Mobility not only strengthens Turin's position as a European hub for sustainable mobility, but also creates new opportunities for Italian startups, granting them access to capital, mentorship and platforms to scale high-impact solutions.
