Turin takes center stage in european philanthropy: the Philea Forum comes to the city in 2027
The announcement made today in Copenhagen at the Philea Forum 2026: more than 800 delegates from around the world expected at OGR Torino.

Turin, 20 May 2026 –
Turin will become a European capital of philanthropy in 2027: from 24 to 27 May, the Philea Forum will be held at OGR Torino, hosted and supported by Fondazione CRT.

The official designation was announced today in Copenhagen during the Philea Forum 2026, in front of more than 800 representatives from the European and international philanthropic community. During the event, the symbolic handover took place from Nina Kovsted Helk, CEO of Realdania, and Henrik Lehmann Andersen, CEO of Nordea-fonden, to Patrizia Polliotto, Secretary General of Fondazione CRT.

The Philea Forum is the annual gathering organized by Philea – Philanthropy Europe Association, the leading network of European philanthropy, of which Fondazione CRT has been a member since 1998. Philea currently brings together 289 organizations from 36 countries, including 38 Italian organizations. It serves as a key point of reference for data and trend analysis, for learning methodologies and transferable best practices in the work of foundations, and for networking and collaboration among philanthropic actors at the European and international levels.

The theme of the 2027 edition will be “Democracy.” Turin represents the ideal setting for this narrative: as the city of Italy’s first Parliament and first Constitutional Charter, with strong industrial and working-class roots, it has gone through historical phases of profound transformation. Today, it presents itself as a cultural and dialogue-driven hub, a scientific and technological center, a space for social innovation, and an international destination—capable of reinventing itself without losing its identity.

“We are truly pleased to support and host, for the first time in Italy and in Turin, the Philea Forum 2027. Fondazione CRT has always worked with a perspective that brings together the local dimension and the international horizon, in the belief that global dialogue can generate concrete opportunities for territories,” said Anna Maria Poggi, President of Fondazione CRT. “This milestone is the result of many years of collaboration with international philanthropy networks and represents an important opportunity for the city, which in 2027 will welcome 800 delegates from around the world. It will be a high-level moment of exchange on tools, policies, and best practices, in a particularly meaningful context such as Turin.”

"Turin is a city that has continuously reinvented itself while staying true to its values, which is an important mirror for what philanthropy strives to do. We are delighted to bring the Philea Forum to Italy and deeply grateful to Fondazione CRT for their commitment and partnership in making this happen. We look forward to welcoming our community to Turin in 2027 for what promises to be an inspiring and impactful gathering", commented Delphine Moralis, Chief Executive Officer, Philea
