Tuesday, December 26, 9.30 pm, the second OGR Jazz Night, an evening with Joyce Elaine Yuille feat. Sergio Di Gennaro Trio in My Beloved American Songbook.
A tribute to the most famous compositions of the American Songbook, immediate and sophisticated at the same time, for a journey through the great American song, enriched by the class and mastery of the Sergio Di Gennario Trio, a band composed of Sergio di Gennaro on piano, Marco Piccirillo on double bass (collaborations with Grant Stewart, Lauren Henderson, Denise King, Deborah Carter, Michael Rosen) and Francesco Brancato on drums (Furio Di Castri, Dado Moroni, Emanuele Cisi).
OGR Jazz Night is the event conceived by OGR in collaboration with Indiependence and the artistic direction of Sergio Di Gennaro, which presents the best of contemporary jazz between live concerts and jam sessions, transforming Snodo, the food & drink soul of OGR, into a sophisticated and cosmopolitan stage. The night when jazz and haute cuisine find the perfect balance, for a sensory journey between refined dishes and cocktails that become art with mixology, in an atmosphere of enveloping notes.
Next OGR Jazz Night to mark on the calendar, December 10.
In the meantime, have a look to the gallery of the first OGR Jazz Night.
JOYCE ELAINE YUILLE
A very lively, energetic, sophisticated singer, Joyce Elaine Yuille hails from New York City's El Barrio area, Spanish Harlem. She entered Fiorello Laguardia High School of The Music & Performing Arts in Manhattan at a very young age, later becoming world famous with the film “Fame!”. After her studies she continued working in show business and a few years later decided to leave the United States for Paris, where she embarked on a modeling career, settling permanently in Europe. From France she arrived in Milan for some fashion shows and, struck by the vibrant Italian music scene, decided to return to her first love: music. After countless appearances on important stages, in 2010 she started her solo journey, enhancing her distinct nature as a jazz artist and performer, and gaining great experience in the live circuit of clubs and festivals.
SERGIO DI GENNARO
Pianist who has appeared on the European scene over the years performing in major cities and clubs in Europe alongside Scott Hamilton, Denise King, Wayne Escoffery, Lauren Henderson, Dusko Goikovich, Jim Rotondi and many others.
