Vera Politkovskaya is the first featured speaker for OGR Talks in 2023. On stage on Feb. 21, at 6:30 pm - Binario 3 OGR Torino, she will present UNA MADRE. La vita e la passione per la verità di Anna Politkovskaja.

A book in which she recounts, with the collaboration of Sara Giudice, the life and struggles for press freedom of her mother, Anna Politkovskaya, the prominent investigative journalist for the Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta, murdered in 2006.

Vera Politkovskaya, author, journalist, and Russia’s new symbol of freedom of expression, has experienced all the slowness and ambiguities of the Russian justice machine on her own skin and, above all, has struggled to keep her mother's message alive: "be brave and always call things by their name, including dictators."

VERA POLITKOVSKAYA
A journalist and television author, she was twenty-six years old when her mother was murdered on October 7, 2006. She lived in Moscow until the beginning of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and then fled to a safe location with her family.

SARA GIUDICE
A journalist, she has been a correspondent for the investigative TV show Piazzapulita since 2015. In 2020, she won the Marco Luchetta Award with a cover story on the Balkan migrant route.
